California Public Utilities Commission announces new filings for late October

Each week, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) adds new filings to ongoing and new proceedings that affect utility services, communities, and consumers in the state. These filings include Proposed Decisions open for public comment, as well as complaints and applications that may influence future policy and regulatory actions.

For the week of October 20-24, 2025, several key filings were announced:

A Proposed Decision was filed on October 24, 2025 in Proceeding R2303007. This decision concerns the adoption of timing and amount for the 2026 Wildfire Fund Non-Bypassable Charge. Members of the public can submit written comments directly through the proceeding’s Docket Card.

New complaints and applications filed during this period include an application by Liberty Utilities (CalPeco Electric) LLC on October 21, 2025 (Proceeding A2510010). The company seeks authority to update rates according to its Energy Cost Adjustment Clause and California Climate Credit, with changes effective January 1, 2026.

Another filing was made by Vested Networks LLC on October 16, 2025 (Proceeding A2510011), requesting registration as a telephone corporation under Public Utilities Code section 1013.

An appeal was submitted by Armando Diaz on October 21, 2025 (Proceeding K2510009). The appeal relates to T.2025-08-003 in the amount of $4,000 issued by CPUC’s Consumer Protection and Enforcement Division.

Additionally, a reopened proceeding from July 15, 2005 (A0507010) involves PacifiCorp and MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company seeking exemption under Section 853(b) from certain approval requirements related to PacifiCorp’s acquisition by MidAmerican.

The CPUC encourages public participation. Comments can be submitted on any Proposed Decision via its Docket Card. Stakeholders may also subscribe to specific proceedings using their numbers to receive updates and notices about rulings or other developments.
