The U.S. Census Bureau has announced new data-sharing agreements with Brigham Young University-Idaho and the University of North Carolina System to expand its Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes (PSEO) experimental data product. This initiative provides information on earnings and employment outcomes for graduates, categorized by degree level, major, institution, and state.
With these additions, the PSEO now includes data from 17 more post-secondary institutions, bringing total coverage to 952 institutions. This represents about 35% of all college graduates in the United States.
According to the Census Bureau, “The PSEO are made possible through data-sharing partnerships between universities, university systems, state departments of education, state labor market information offices, and the U.S. Census Bureau.” The information is generated by linking graduate transcript records with Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics data.
Users can access this data through the PSEO Explorer tool, raw files, or via the Census API.
