Ceres residents are advised of road closures on Friday due to a parade celebrating the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. St. Jude Church is organizing the event, which will begin at 4 p.m. at Smyrna Park on Moffett and Fowler Road.

The procession will move south on Ninth Street, crossing Whitmore Avenue and Roeding Road, then turn onto Frontage Road and continue down Don Pedro Road before crossing Mitchell Road. The parade route may cause traffic delays, so drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

Participants in the parade include Danzas Aztecas and Ballet Folklorico dancers as well as Banda Los Bohemios De Culiacan, who will provide performances during the event. A Mass in Spanish is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The procession will end at St. Jude Catholic Church located at 3824 Mitchell Road. Organizers expect about 800 attendees for the observance, which is set to conclude around 9 p.m.

“Those interested in participating are encouraged to join the procession,” church representatives stated.
