The original building at Chicken Ranch Casino Resort in Tuolumne County will close for a full remodel starting at 2 a.m. on January 5, with plans to reopen in the spring. The casino announced that the renovation will update the facility and add more gaming options.

“When the OG reopened in August 2024, one month after the debut of the new Chicken Ranch Casino Resort, gaming occupancy was intentionally reduced to roughly half of its previous capacity,” according to a statement from Chicken Ranch.

After renovations are complete, both sides of the original building—referred to as “the OG”—will be open and feature an improved gaming floor layout. New slot machines such as Wheel of Fortune Cash of Reels, Lucky Lemmings Stampede, and 5x3x2x Red Hot Tamales will be added. The casino also plans to introduce sixteen electronic table games.

The property will continue its policy as an 18-and-older smoking venue and will not serve alcohol. During construction, the bingo hall will stay open and maintain its regular schedule.
