The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) is inviting locals and districts to honor members who have died due to work-related incidents by purchasing personalized bricks for the IAM Workers Memorial. The memorial is located at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland.
The deadline to order a personalized brick is Sunday, March 1, 2026. Options include a $100 brick with three lines of text (up to 20 characters per line), a $125 brick with the IAM logo and three lines of up to 15 characters each, or an 8Ă—8 brick for $200 that can feature either six lines without a logo or five lines with a logo. Supporters can also purchase a commemorative tile for $10.
For locals that have lost a member due to job-related causes, the IAM offers complimentary bricks upon submission of an order form.
The memorial was completed in 2001 and features bricks bearing the names of fallen workers as well as contributions from lodges and members. An annual ceremony is held at the site to remember those lost and reaffirm efforts toward workplace safety. The date for this year’s event will be announced later.
“Each year, a ceremony is held at the memorial to remember the workers we’ve lost and renew our commitment to preventing workplace injuries and fatalities,” according to IAM representatives.
