Today marks Giving Tuesday, a global event that encourages people to support charitable causes following the shopping events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines (GDA | TLC), supported by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), has launched its Holidays of Hope fundraiser.

The organization is calling for donations to help fund service dogs for individuals in need. According to GDA | TLC, contributions made today will go toward supporting military veterans with PTSD, people who are blind or visually impaired, and children with autism. The organization highlights the positive impact these service dogs have on recipients’ lives.

“Each donation you make today will directly benefit a military veteran with PTSD, a person who is blind or visually impaired, or a child with autism who needs the life-changing confidence, love, and hope that a service dog provides,” states GDA | TLC.

Supporters are encouraged to contribute as part of the annual Giving Tuesday initiative.
