IAM Union members working as air traffic controllers are preparing for upcoming contract negotiations with the government contractor Leidos. Mark Costa, a member of the IAM negotiations team and a flight service specialist, discussed his responsibilities in providing essential weather and safety information to pilots.

Costa represents Local 2010 in Reston, Virginia. He noted that both his local and Local 2011 in Fort Worth, Texas, are involved in these preparations for bargaining with Leidos.

According to Costa: “I am responsible for providing critical weather and safety information to pilots.” He added that his team is actively preparing for negotiations alongside their counterparts from another local.

The outcome of these negotiations will affect IAM-represented air traffic controllers at both locations as they work toward a new contract with the contractor.
