Several local organizations are seeking holiday gift donations to support low-income families, homeless youth, and foster children as the holiday season continues.

The Modesto Gospel Mission is preparing for its Christmas at the Mission event on December 23. Donations can be made through its Amazon Wishlist or by dropping off new and unwrapped gifts at the mission before December 20.

Love Stanislaus County is collecting presents for children in foster care, with a deadline of 2 p.m. Monday for donations. Items requested include wireless headphones, wireless phone chargers, jackets, shoes, blankets, puzzles, board games, clothing, and gift cards for Target and Walmart. Those interested in donating are asked to contact Love Stanislaus County before selecting a child to shop for.

A partnership between the Stanislaus Regional Housing Authority, Colores Del Futuro, and the Modesto Artists Movement is collecting new and gently used toys for about 50 families. Donations can be dropped off at Preservation Coffee & Tea on J Street until Monday.

Valley CAPS Modesto is asking for jackets, coats, gloves, beanies, and socks to benefit children served by the Stanislaus County Children’s Crisis Center. Donations can be delivered to 108 Campus Way by Monday.

The Salvation Army locations in Modesto and Turlock are running Angel Tree programs to fulfill children’s holiday wishes. Donors can contribute online via a Walmart wishlist or drop off gifts directly. The Modesto site has 17 wishes left to fill; Turlock has 41 remaining.

The Ceres Police Officers’ Association is accepting new toy donations for local children until Tuesday at several locations including the police department on Third Street as well as Sam’s Cafe, Mr. Taquito restaurant, Ace Hardware, and two Dollar General stores in Ceres.

Additionally, the California Highway Patrol office in Modesto is taking donations through December 19 at its Kiernan Avenue location along with Heritage Ford on Sisk Road, Kids Club Modesto on McHenry Avenue, and all Walgreens stores in Modesto.

These efforts aim to provide gifts and essentials to those in need during the holidays across various parts of Stanislaus County.
