Lockheed Martin, PG&E Corporation, Salesforce, and Wells Fargo have announced the formation of EMBERPOINT LLC, a new venture designed to advance wildfire prevention, detection, and response in the United States. The initiative aims to integrate technologies such as artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and advanced command-and-control platforms to support first responders in managing wildfires.
EMBERPOINT will provide agencies and utilities with access to modern systems for early fire detection and improved coordination without requiring them to invest in development costs. This approach is intended to help communities implement affordable solutions for wildfire mitigation.
Lockheed Martin will contribute its expertise in predictive technology and military-grade autonomous response systems. These tools are expected to allow firefighters to identify and address wildfires at an earlier stage.
PG&E Corporation’s subsidiary, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, will bring experience in wildfire mitigation strategies. According to the announcement, “Contributions or information from Pacific Gas and Electric Company are subject to regulatory approval.”
Salesforce’s role will be focused on building a digital infrastructure for EMBERPOINT by consolidating various data sources into a real-time response platform. This integration will use products like Agentforce and Slack to improve cross-organization communication during wildfire events.
Wells Fargo is supporting the venture through financial investment.
Jim Taiclet, Chairman, President and CEO of Lockheed Martin said: “It’s time to change the way we think about wildfires and bring the best of American technology and know-how to this growing threat to lives and property. Devastating wildfires are on the rise and this new partnership brings four leading companies in the aerospace, electrical power, tech, and financial industries together to address this national problem… EMBERPOINT aims to combine these skills along with those of our partners to address what is a true national security mission.”
Patti Poppe, CEO of PG&E Corporation stated: “This partnership underscores our commitment to ending catastrophic wildfires. We plan to seek regulatory approval to pair Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s on-the-ground experience with our partners’ advanced technology, and properly scale how we identify risk, prevent incidents, and protect the people and ecosystems we serve for the benefit of all society—while staying fully focused on providing safe and reliable energy to our customers. Today’s announcement marks the next step in a broader, multi-phase effort to end catastrophic wildfires.”
John Somorjai, Chief Corporate Development and Investments Officer at Salesforce commented: “Agentforce and Slack are powerful tools that can be used to solve the most pressing challenges. We look forward to integrating our world-class AI capabilities with the specialized expertise of our partners to combat the escalating threat of wildfires.”
The development team behind EMBERPOINT plans demonstrations later in 2026.
