Gas prices in the Macon, Georgia metro area have increased slightly over the past week, according to data compiled by CheapInsurance.com using AAA statistics. As of October 6, the average price for regular gasoline in Macon stands at $2.94 per gallon. This is a $0.02 increase from last week, representing a 0.7% rise.
Compared to the state average, Macon’s gas prices are higher; Georgia’s statewide average is $2.89 per gallon.
Over the past year, gas prices in Macon have gone up by $0.16, or 5.8%. The highest recorded gas price in the area was $4.45 on June 16, 2022.
Diesel prices have also seen an uptick. The current diesel price is $3.58 per gallon—a weekly increase of $0.06 (1.6%) and a yearly increase of $0.35 (10.7%). Diesel reached its peak at $5.59 on June 21, 2022.
Among U.S metros with the lowest gas prices this week are Lawton, Oklahoma ($2.42), Tulsa, Oklahoma ($2.46), and Casper, Wyoming ($2.50).
