On Thanksgiving morning, 48 vehicles were broken into at the parking lot of the Great Wolf Lodge in Manteca. Police responded to the incident around 7:30 a.m. at the resort hotel located at 2500 Daniels St.

Authorities reported that windows of several vehicles were smashed and various items were stolen, including electronics, toiletries, and at least one firearm. Community service officers processed the scene and took initial reports. These reports will be forwarded to a detective for further investigation.

The parking lot at the Manteca Great Wolf Lodge is gated and requires visitors to pull a ticket for entry. The resort also has security measures in place, but police stated it is unclear if security staff were present in the lot during the time of the break-ins.

Police noted that surveillance video from the property has not yet been reviewed by law enforcement because “the Great Wolf Lodge wants to compile the surveillance video first before releasing the video to them. ‘Therefore, we are unaware of what areas the cameras cover or what is on the video,'” according to a press release from the Police Department.

Authorities advise people not to leave valuables in their vehicles, particularly during holiday periods when there may be an assumption that gifts or other valuable items are inside.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information about these incidents is encouraged to contact the Manteca Police Department at 209-456-8101.
