The California Highway Patrol in the Modesto area has launched its 37th annual holiday toy drive. The effort aims to collect new, unwrapped toys, sporting goods, and games for nonprofit organizations in Stanislaus County to distribute during the holiday season.

Community members can drop off donations at several locations. The CHP office at 4030 Kiernan Ave. is accepting items on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additional collection sites include Heritage Ford at 2100 Sisk Road, Kids Club Modesto at 3440 McHenry Ave., and all Walgreens stores in Modesto.

A statement from the CHP press release said, “Our goal is to make a difference in a child’s life while maintaining trust within the community and building positive relationships.”

The final day for donations is December 19.
