Modesto-area retailers begin hiring events for seasonal holiday positions

Several businesses in the Modesto and Manteca areas have begun hiring for seasonal positions ahead of the holiday season. Retailers are organizing hiring events and posting job opportunities online to meet increased demand.

Bass Pro Shops is seeking to fill 55 positions at its Manteca and Rocklin stores. The company will hold a hiring event on Wednesday and Thursday at both locations. Applicants interested in the Manteca store can apply online before visiting the store at 1356 Bass Pro Drive between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on those days. Those unable to attend can contact the store directly at 209-825-8400. Available roles include apparel, camping, gifts, fishing, footwear, and cashier positions. Starting pay ranges from $16.50 to $19.75 per hour. Benefits for eligible team members include merchandise discounts up to 50% off, holiday and vacation pay, as well as health, dental, and life insurance.

The Vintage Faire Mall will host a holiday hiring event on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the lower level of the mall’s center court. Participating stores include Carters, Champs Sports, Cinnabon, Claire’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Foot Locker, Foot Locker Kids, and Kura Revolving Sushi Bar. Additional employers may join the event. Applicants are advised to bring a resume and a state-issued photo ID or driver’s license.

Lucky You Orchards in Ripon is hiring for a weekend farm ambassador for the fall season at 21611 Carrolton Road. The position pays $17 per hour with hours from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through mid-November. Farm ambassadors greet guests, assist with setup and cleanup, pour juice, share information about organic apples, educate visitors about farming practices, and handle sales using Square systems. Applicants must be at least 16 years old. The job includes orchard perks and may lead to further opportunities at farmers markets. Other businesses hiring for seasonal roles include Burlington (locations at 3900 Sisk Road and 2001 McHenry Ave., Modesto) offering sales, stocking, and cashier jobs at $16.50 per hour; Del Monte Foods (4000 Yosemite Blvd., Modesto) seeking warehouse supervisors with wages ranging from $15.50 to $48.08 per hour; Kohls (2225 Plaza Parkway in Modesto; 2351 Claribel Road in Riverbank; 2751 Countryside Drive in Turlock) offering sales, stockroom work, truck unloading and Sephora beauty advisor roles paying between $16.50 and $23.85 per hour; and Ulta Beauty (3900 Sisk Road in Modesto; 2407 Claribel Road in Riverbank; 2841 Countryside Drive in Turlock), which is looking for beauty advisors and task associates at rates from $16.50 to $21.50 per hour.

Businesses are preparing for increased customer traffic during the holidays by expanding their workforce through these seasonal job opportunities.
