Many Modesto-area stores and services will adjust their hours for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The Modesto Bee contacted local businesses to provide information on what residents can expect during the holiday.

Vintage Faire Mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on December 31, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on January 1. Individual retailers and restaurants inside the mall, such as Dave & Buster’s, may have different schedules, so customers are encouraged to contact them directly.

Pharmacies will also operate with modified hours. CVS Pharmacy will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, with pharmacy services available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On New Year’s Day, the store will open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with pharmacy counters operating between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Walgreens locations in Modesto will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on both days, but pharmacy hours differ: they are available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on December 31 and closed entirely on January 1.

Government offices such as the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), U.S. Postal Service (USPS), and public libraries will close for New Year’s Day, along with most banks in the area.

On December 31, some government services remain accessible for limited hours; the DMV is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., while USPS offices close at 2 p.m.

Package delivery companies like FedEx and UPS will run on modified schedules for New Year’s Eve but suspend deliveries entirely on New Year’s Day.

Residents are advised that store hours can vary by location and should confirm details before visiting any business during the holiday period.
