Many Modesto-area stores and services will adjust their hours or close for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in 2025. The Modesto Bee contacted local businesses to determine holiday schedules.

Vintage Faire Mall will operate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on December 24, but will be closed on December 25. Individual retailers and restaurants within the mall, such as Dave & Buster’s, may have different hours, so customers are advised to contact them directly.

Pharmacies will also have altered schedules. CVS Pharmacy will open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve, with pharmacy services available between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. On Christmas Day, CVS stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., though pharmacy counters will not operate.

Walgreens stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on December 24, with pharmacy services running from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On December 25, Walgreens locations can be visited between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., but pharmacy counters will remain closed.

Most government offices in Modesto—including the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), U.S. Postal Service (USPS), and public libraries—will close for Christmas Day, along with most banks.

On Christmas Eve, some public services and businesses will offer reduced hours: the DMV is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., USPS offices close at 2 p.m., while public libraries are closed for the day.

Package delivery companies like FedEx and UPS plan modified hours on December 24 and no deliveries on December 25.

Customers should confirm exact times with individual locations since hours may vary by store or branch.
