Motorcyclist dies in solo crash near Briggsmore and Coffee in Modesto

A man was killed in a motorcycle crash Monday night near the intersection of Briggsmore Avenue and Coffee Road, according to the Modesto Police Department. Department spokesperson Sharon Bear reported that the incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. and did not involve any other vehicles.

The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office identified the motorcyclist as Edward Duran, 53, of Hollister.

Following the crash, eastbound Briggsmore Avenue between Sunrise Avenue and Coffee Road was closed for investigation. The department’s Traffic Safety Unit is overseeing the case.

Police stated that updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
