Netflix has announced that the season 5 finale of “Stranger Things” will be available for viewing in select movie theaters, coinciding with its global premiere on the streaming platform. The first showings are scheduled for 5 p.m. PT at more than 500 theaters across the United States and Canada, with a runtime of two hours and five minutes.

In Stanislaus County, only Galaxy Theatres Riverbank IMAX will screen the “Stranger Things” finale. The theater will offer four showings on New Year’s Eve and another four on New Year’s Day.

As of December 3, ticket sales indicated high demand. The initial New Year’s Eve screening at 5 p.m. was nearly sold out, with seats 94% full. Subsequent showings at 6 p.m., 8:30 p.m., and 9:30 p.m. were also filling quickly, at 83%, 82%, and 77% capacity respectively. On New Year’s Day, the earliest showing at 9:30 a.m. had reached 61% capacity, while later screenings at 1 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 8 p.m. ranged from 67% to 70% full.

Tickets are priced at $10 each plus a $2.49 convenience fee, and can be purchased online through the Galaxy Theatres website.
