The Dos Rios Ranch State Park, located about eight miles southwest of Modesto, is seeking public input for its long-term development. On Saturday, Oct. 4, community members are invited to share their ideas for the park’s future from 10 a.m. to noon at 3559 Shiloh Road. Park staff will also offer guided tours every half hour between 8 and 11:30 a.m.
Dos Rios Ranch State Park opened in June 2024 and covers approximately 1,600 acres at the meeting point of the Tuolumne and San Joaquin rivers. The park currently features trails and shaded picnic areas. Future additions could include a campground, boat launch, and other amenities depending on available funding.
An online workshop will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 15 from 6 to 8 p.m., allowing further opportunities for public participation in the planning process.
Currently, there is no entry fee due to limited facilities. The park operates from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays through Sundays and will maintain these hours on Monday, Oct. 13 for Indigenous Peoples Day and Columbus Day.
More details about the planning process can be found at PlanDosRios.org.
