Local comedian Anthony Krayenhagen, 38, was arrested on Thursday after being accused of threatening Stanislaus County Supervisor Channce Condit. The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office reported that the alleged threat occurred during a phone call on November 13, which Condit perceived as a threat to his life.
Detective Royjindar Singh stated that after Condit, who is acquainted with Krayenhagen, reported the incident, an arrest warrant was issued the following day. The Sheriff’s Office’s Special Investigations Unit took over the case.
Krayenhagen was detained during a traffic stop in the parking lot of a tire store in Ceres around noon on Thursday. He is currently held on $750,000 bail. An administrative hold has also been placed on him, preventing him from posting bail until authorities verify that his income is legitimate. According to Singh, this hold may be lifted once verification is complete.
Krayenhagen, a native of Ceres, has performed at several well-known comedy venues including the San Jose Improv and San Francisco’s Punch Line and Purple Onion. He has also appeared at various local spots throughout the Central Valley.
Recently, Krayenhagen was involved in a public dispute with Motecuzoma Sanchez of 209 Times after an argument at Che’root Cigar Lounge in Modesto. Both parties have shared differing accounts of the incident online.
