Stanislaus deputies arrest six suspects, recover $27K in stolen goods after retail theft probe

Six people were taken into custody and more than $27,000 in stolen merchandise was recovered following a retail theft investigation, according to a statement from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook.

Detectives with the Riverbank police led the investigation, which interrupted an alleged theft operation that had been affecting businesses and communities throughout California. On Thursday, deputies executed search warrants and made arrests at two locations in Modesto. The Sheriff’s Office reported that thousands of dollars’ worth of store merchandise and a firearm were found during the searches.

The items recovered included $17,000 worth of goods from Ross and $10,300 in merchandise from Burlington. The six individuals arrested are facing multiple charges related to the thefts. The Sheriff’s Department has not released their names.
